Work on Paper
This series are about work made on thick cardboard (400grams) All of them are prepared for different kinds of paint, oil and acryllic, as well as silkscreen. At least four layers of groundfluid is added before any further processing takes place.
There are different themes to be discovered. Most of them try to expose some positive energy and a view on the better side of our lives. Others may be a tribute to well known artists like Motherwell and Warhol.
A special series of Amsterdam-based papers show my deep relationship with this city. I was born and raised in Amsterdam during the sixties and seventies.
Amsterdam plays a special role in my life and will never be forgotten. We lived in a bigg house caused by the profession of my father. This privilege gave me the opportunity to develop myself into the artworld, painted a lot and had a wonderful life. Allthought Amsterdam made a bigg difference, the subject never appeared into bigger paintings. The images seen now are made using silkscreen in combination with oilpaint and acryllic.
